Just finished this lovely crochet tablecloth for Inside Crochet. It has taken me ages to work out the pattern and make it. Gorgeous colours using Rowan Cotton Glace and lots of double trebles and triple trebles. For the February issue where you'll see a much better image!

I'm running a really good workshop for Christmas on the 7th December on how to make Crochet Toys (Amigurumi). They make really great little Christmas gifts or decorations. Come along! Mince pies too!! This is for all levels, you just need to know how to make a double crochet.
This image is from my latest book: Cute & Easy Crochet with Flowers but it gives you the idea for my latest workshop:
Christmas Piccalilli & Chutney Making Cost: £45 each session (includes all ingredients and lunch) - £80 for both sessions.A great opportunity to come and learn how to make Piccalilli and Chutneys just in time to give as gifts for Christmas. This workshop is also being taught by Helen Hadfield (Piccalilli and Chutney expert!). We'll work from a tried and tested delicious homemade recipe and supply all the ingredients, jars and labels and you'll make a batch of jars to take home with you.
I've just created an App. It's a really great way of giving all my contact details, details of my workshops, books and news. If you send this link to your phone and then open it up on your home screen you can scroll through and see everything. It works best on a phone rather than the web as it's designed for a smart phone. Let me know what you think:
This is aimed at my craft community, those who are interested in my books, articles, designs and workshops and who would like to join other like-minded people. I'd like this to be a real community of people sharing tips, patterns, photos and just general chat and support for anything to do with crafts and cooking of course!. I'll be posting up some free patterns, recipes, news, photos and competitions. This is also a great place for people who come on my workshops to stay in touch with the friends you make and share. So please come and join in - it'll be fun!
Here are some chocolate roses I made with my friend Besh the other night. These are for her friend's 40th birthday cake. She's going to cover the cake in an ganache and then pour white chocolate over the top and decorate with these roses. It's going to look gorgeous.
Did you know that I run workshops on how to make these roses? I usually teach how to make them using sugarpaste, but you can also make them with this modelling chocolate. The roses workshop also covers how to sugarpaste/fondant ice your cake. It really is a great skill and a lot of fun.
Can't wait to see the final cake - will post up a photo when she's finished. Perhaps I'll also give instructions on how to do it, or make an app!
Had very brief but fun morning when I had to go to the BBC studio in Brighton to record a comment about baby blankets for You & Yours for Radio 4. Have a listen again, if you get the chance. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qps9
Of course you'll all have to find a new baby so you can make a baby blanket now! See my most recent design in Simply Crochet, or if you don't crochet, come along to one of my crochet or knitting courses to learn how to make one!
More of some my previous blanket designs:
Not a blanket design, but couldn't resist this one - don't you think the Royal baby would look cute in this? (from Cute & Easy Crochet Baby Clothes)
Have just reduced price of workshops. I'm lucky that I can hold the workshops in my new home, so that reduces my costs, so I'm able to pass this on to my customers! So now the knitting, crochet, patchwork workshops are £60 instead of £75, basic sewing classes are £75 (they include all fabric costs), and the cake decorating classes are £80 (including all costs of fondant icing and materials to make roses and leaves).
I'm also offering a special discount to knitting & crochet groups (or any groups!). If you can get a group of 6 people together or more, the workshop will cost £50 per person (knitting, crochet, patchwork).
So come along and book. Classes are small so you'll have lots of individual attention and the food's good too!
It's been really hard to blog recently, I'm working on a new Fair Isle book for Cico Publishing, designing for Simply Crochet, working on a new project for a publisher who produces some lovely childrens books: Make Believe Ideas, working with a new exciting company who run online classes called The Amazings, getting the workshops up and running at the new venue and moving house! So forgive me for lack of news.
The new house is just fantastic. It's a converted barn just outside Lewes in East Sussex and it's SO good to be back in East Sussex and near Lewes - I just love it here. I'm having some new photos done by a lovely young photographer on Friday, so I should have some new photos of the barn soon.
Sadly Monty, our lovely 17 year old Border Collie didn't make it to the new house and he is very much missed, but Poppy, our Golden Retriever and Cocoa the grumpy cat have settled in well. Cocoa even caught a rabbit and dragged it through the cat flap, so he must be happy!
Don't forget the next workshop on Saturday 20th July. It's a Beginner's Crochet class, so please come and see the new place and have a lovely day here learning how to crochet. Let me know if you'd like to join.
New book by Cico, Cute & Easy Crochet with Flowers is due out in September and here is a little preview:

Our gorgeous Border Collie, Monty died yesterday aged 17. We are all very sad and will miss him loads. I've packed up my external hard drive with all my photos of him. If anyone I know has any of him, could you email one to me so I can post a pic of him?
Cute & Easy Crochet with Flowers will be released in September. I will be getting some copies to sell. If you'd like to pre order, please email me: email@example.com and I will order them for you.
Here is an image of the front cover and some information about the book from Cico Books below. My personal feelings are that this is the best book I've done so far. I'm delighted with all the projects in the book and can't wait for you to see it:

I've been rubbish at updating my blog. Mainly because I've been working flat out on designing some Fair isle for the knitting book I'm working on. I now have lots of knitters, so thank you all so much for passing on the word.
I thought you might like to see my inspiration for the project of the day which is a Baby Blanket. I plan to use Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino for this. There is a great range of colours that's needed for Fair isle. Some of you know that I usually use Rooster and I still love it of course, but I have to use a much wider range of colours for this book, though there will still be a couple of projects where I will use it.
Desperately looking for some experienced Fair Isle knitters to help me on my current book. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
There will be garments and some smaller items too. Payments according to size of project.
