Exciting new project

Very happy to announce that I will be running a new fabric line for Laughing Hens. We plan to introduce a really exciting range of fabrics: Amy Butler, Kaffee Fassett, Tanya Whelan, Kokka Japanese fabrics, Feedsacks, variety of threads and more.

We're just in the process of setting it all up and I'll let you all know as soon as it's up and running. Here are some images of my favourites:

Come and Crochet in the New Year

You'll be needing a well-earned break from Christmas and New Year and need to completely zone-out and have a relaxing morning either learning to crochet or spend the afternoon extending your skills. This is also a great Christmas present. Ask loved ones to treat you to a Crochet Workshop, better than opening up yet another piece of clutter or other unwanted sort of gift!

Come along on Saturday 14th January 2012: Beginners in the morning and Intermediates in the afternoon. Please let me know if you'd like to go on the list and I'll reserve you a place.
The programme will be:
Beginner's Crochet: 9.30am till 12.30pm
This will cover crochet from the very start and is suitable for total beginners or those wanting to practice the basic stitches. You'll learn:

How to hold the hook and yarn
Double, treble crochet, slip stitch
How to crochet in the round
Crochet a flower

Intermediate Crochet: 1.30pm till 4.30pm
You'll further practice your knowledge of basic crochet and increase your stitches and techniques
Each class costs £35.

Practice wools and hooks will be provided and a chance to see some work in progress from some of my projects from the new Baby Crochet book and Cute & Easy Crochet.
There will be a free pattern for each session included.

Payments for bookings will be taken in advance, online at http://www.nickitrench.com/id1.html.

I really hope you can come, it's a great opportunity to spend some time learning to crochet either with a friend or on your own with other like-minded people in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Classes will be held at Battlers Green Farm, Radlett, Herts WD7 8PH.

Crochet Flowers to decorate your Christmas presents

Am thinking of running a morning teaching crochet flowers, for decorating Christmas presents. Sometime in November if I can fix a date. The cost would be £35 same as the other workshops from 9.30 till 12.30. Can you let me know if anyone would be interested.

Thank you!

A preview of a project for my new book on Baby Crochet, I can't tell you what it is, but it's very pretty and looks like a vintage swimming cap!

Festival of Quilts

I went to the Festival of Quilts last month. Trying to find suppliers and interesting things for a new Laughing Hens venture. And saw this log cabin quilt made of knitting:

Crochet workshops

The 26th November is already nearly booked up, so if you're thinking of booking in, please let me know asap.

A couple  of people have cancelled for the Beginner's class on the 15th October, so I still have a couple of spaces for that.

My latest love is Jezebel, an online newspaper for women - they have some really gritty, cleverly written articles. See todays:

Crochet in progress

I'm trying to decorate a cardigan with little boats, but I can't get the boats right. Here are two boats, one using Rooster Baby and the other using a mercerised cotton. I'm going to try with some 4 ply now and I'll put it onto  the red cardigan it's intended for:
