Franchi Seeds

Last night I made my way down to Farringdon to the Franchi Seeds pre Hampton Court press party. Very nice evening, had a talk with Paolo Arrigo who owns the family run company. If you haven't already seen Franchi seeds, check them out. Lots of really interesting varieties of Italian grown seeds and in very lovely packaging.

Mollie Makes

I've recently discovered this magazine. I'm a big fan. It's about time that a magazine like this has been published. It's beautifully photographed, very inspirational and the best magazine on this subject that's come out for years. I've just subscribed. Take a look, it's really worth it.

Reject

Today I had to reject something I spent hours making. it just wasn't right at all, very frustrating, but all part of the design process. You rarely get something right the first time and you can spend hours doing something only to reject it because it's not perfect enough to go into the book. Nevertheless, a really good productive day, albeit a long one. I find I have no life at all when I'm in the middle of writing a book (or two), I become obsessed!

Here is a little swatch of fabrics that did, in a very small way, get into one of the projects, not my favourites, but I choose them for their colour as they are used only in the smallest way:

Camilla

Camilla modelled recently for Jeni from Fyberspates. This is the cover of her new pattern book full of yummie things.

It's just that Camilla will be 21 on Friday. It's very emotional! 21! I remember my 21st birthday party - I had a transvestite party.

Camilla's will be a lot more tame - at least her lunch will be... Family, godfathers and all will be making our way to Brighton to all meet for a celebration lunch. Am very excited and can't wait.

A little more delicious temptation

How about these lovely straight quilting lines! I've just discovered I have a gadget on my walking foot which makes hours of measuring out the spaces so much quicker! Too late for this project though....

One of my favourite projects so far....... and this is just a little window of its loveliness...

What I'm making

This week I have made something wonderful with this embroidery. They were tatty, old embroidered tablecloths that were sitting in my friend Carolyn's loft. I love what I've made - it's my favourite thing that's going in the book so far! I wish I could tell you, but you'll just have to wait!

Wierd and wonderful

My first carrots! Pulled up some fresh beetroot and carrots from the veggie garden today and really looking forward to roasted vegetables with houmous tonight. Have had the most awful cold over the last couple of days and haven't been able to taste anything, so really looking forward to this.
